Organic Kelp Powder 250g & 500g. A dried and ground form of Kelp, a type of seaweed. Kelp is known for being highly nutritious and particularly high in vitamins and minerals.

Kelp is one of the best natural sources of Iodine, and a good source of calcium, magnesium, and potassium. It has also been known to help with the digestive system.

Kelp Powder can be added to soups, stews, smoothies, and other dishes to enhance flavour and provide that extra nutritional boost. With its typical nutty and slightly salty taste when cooked correctly, kelp is a fantastic ingredient which is packed full of vitamins and minerals to help out your diet. It is most famous for its use in foods. In the Orient, it is used to flavour soups and sushi. The medicinal virtues of kelp are primarily related to its content of viscous fibre called algin. Algin absorbs most nutrients as well as toxins from the digestive tract in much the same way that a water softener removes the “hardness” from tap water. This results in less toxins entering the circulatory system.

Add a modest pinch (0.5g daily, approximately 1/6 of a tsp) to flavour food or drink. Caution should be taken when taking kelp as a supplement as it is high in iodine. Excess iodine from kelp can cause adverse health effects.
